I bring my family and wife here from Park Ridge to get pizza. We have family out this way and sometimes meet up here. its a good family restaurant thats kinda hidden in Chicago because people downtown probably dont know about it much. Good burgers and sandwich wraps. The kids like the buffalo wings in Chicago better than by us at home. Sometimes parking is difficult but only when its crowded. Park at Midas across the street

I'm never disappointed when I go to Candlelite. The staff is great, the food is awesome and the beer is cold.  It is not often that you get a burger cooked perfectly, but they haven't failed me yet.  The ambience is welcoming and it is family friendly.  You gotta eat the Garlic Fries!

I went to Candlelight on the Fourth of July with a girlfriend. Our server was James and he was great. He made us awesome drinks and the prices weren't high. I don't live in Chicago anymore but I will come back for sure the next time I'm in town. We were in after the kitchen closed so we didn't eat.

Love coming here but its a bit of a drive for me. If I know I will be in the area though I usually try to stop in or take something home for carry-out. The pizza is good and Gurnee doesn't have any good independent places, just chains like Pizza Hut and Dominos and Papa John's.

Love coming here to watch the Chicago Blackhawks! They had a good 2011 playoff run, I watched a couple games here, there was a good crowd but not uncomfortablly crowded. They have good appetizers, I usually get them with a beer. My wide likes the organic vodka they have. I like the Gumballhead beer and Blue Moon too. Garlic herb fries are great, best with feta cheese though added.

Best damn thin crust pizza in Chicago, and I'm not kidding. I like it because they are always consistent and it's good every time. Never over cooks or dry or bad. I like their spinach pizza and sometimes I get garlic or pepperoni thin crust. The wraps are good too. Gotta get the garlic herb fries and do the Facebook check-in thingie to get them free. Good bar, I like to come here fairly often to watch games on the flat screens and have a drink and some food maybe. Only gave it four stars cause I've been to better places in my life so it was hard to give it the best rating possible, but it is great and the pizza is good and not like bar food thats crappy. Excellent food, one of the best sports bars in chicago in my opinion. I come here often for food, mostly their thin crust pizza. We've never been in here, but we live in South Evanston and order delivery fairly frequently.

The garlic herb fries are AMAZING. Seriously. If you're not a fan of garlic then you (obviously) wouldn't be into these, but they're packed with flavor, and as a girl who grew up in Yorkshire, I dig the fact that they're made with vinegar. Even delivered, these things rock. I'm afraid to go in and order them lest I end up weighing 500 pounds.

My favorite is the New Mexico salad. Just the right amount of everything- lots of avocado, tortilla strips, black beans. Delicious! The hubby is a big fan of their burgers.

Everything always arrives here piping hot and not mushy. The prices aren't awful, and delivery is generally pretty fast.

Definitely a favorite for tasty American fare, especially when you don't feel like cooking on a Friday night.

We love Candlelite.  Every time we go the service is great, the staff very friendly and the menu is really great considering it's a bar.  I love that you can go, bring the family, have a great meal and be able to talk to your tablemates without having to compete with the music (which is in the background, but not too loud) or other patrons.  The menu is really diverse and its a great place to go and relax.  We were there on Saturday night with our 3 year old and 8 month old and they couldn't have been nicer.  We really enjoyed ourselves.

Plus, the added bonus is to see who merited mention on the sign outside!  :-)

This place is still another fav - especially with Tuesday's special - buy one pizza, Wednesday's 2 for 1 burgers or get one free or Thursday - 25 cent wings.  They always have great draft beers and delicious food.

The last time we came, we all devoured those delicious garlic herb fries with feta, ordered a meat lovers thin crust pizza, tried the mac n cheese (not so much a fan), chicken strips for the little guy (which he really liked - not too crispy but soft on the inside) which was served with tater tots and tried their wings, as well.

Overall, our server was great and the food was delicious.  Just realized that they no longer are on restaurant.com but their deals are still worth coming back for!

mmmm voted best burger for a reason! Good stuff but if you could tell me it was grass fed beef I'd be floored and order one for myself the next visit. A few things are telling me the beef comes from ordinary cows. Moo hoo...

Nice atmosphere. Judging by the hood, one might think this was a total dive bar and from what I've heard it WAS a dive bar back in the day. Not anymore. They class-y-fied  the joint.

We got the cheese curds for an appetizer. Being so far up on the north side and closer to Wisconsin than I normally get in a day I knew the curds (a WI favorite) were going to be gooooood.

My favorite thing about this place is that among the many tater side options offered with the burgers and samiches they also offer a grilled veggie skewer. I love places that GET IT! I got the black bean burger sandwich so having the grilled veggies allowed me to eat the curds guilt free.

The black bean burger was good but I dont think it was homemade. It came in a perfectly rounded patty shape. Still good though and served on a pretzel roll. Yeah!

Great Chicago Burgers

so happy that groupon introduced us to Candlelite, coz we definitely don't live anywhere close to the place

we spent an afternoon there watching college football and the experience couldn't have been better the bloody marys were thick and spicy and there are a lot of different choices for beer. We had the bbq chicken pizza and white pizza and they were very tasty (tip: you must order it extra crispy, slightly burned)
the bartender was friendly and its obvious there are a lot of regulars there but we were treated like one of them

love the atmosphere and we can tell lots of families bring their kids there as well
a good place to watch games and have a drink, easy parking too

We heard about Candlelite all the way out in Tuscon.  Since we are on a life ling search for the "perfect pizza" we had to take a road trip to see for ourselves what all the fuss over your pizza was about.  It was definitely worth the trip.  Hope we won the prize for the "longest drive"!!!! :)

Great fun, food!  Wonderful friendly service-Servers are well trained.  Our favorite neighborhood rest and bar.

Excellent thin crust pizza-especially the bbq chicken and 2 for 1 on Tuesday can't be beat.  Servers and waiters are extraordinary.  Attentive as well.

Last Tuesday I visited Candlelite Rest for the first time.  The thin crust pizza was the absolute best I ever tasted.  It was also 2 for 1 nite and it was truly a great value.  I look forward to visitng next week.  The staff was outstanding as well.  Brittony was very attenttive despite the fact the place was packed-she really made me feel that I was her only customer!

Chicago Pizza from heaven...I have eaten all over the city and have lived here my whole life so I know good pizza from bad and this is in the top 3 in all of Chicago.  Ahead of many big namers too like Home Run Inn.  The only reason I would not say it is the best is because on any given day they are all at the top of my list! LOL!  Great friendly service too.  After I was done eating I had a martini that was perfect-I will be back.
